It's believed three male teenagers were riding on a track south of Mount Isa around lunch time Sunday when two of them crashed their bikes.
One rider was knocked unconscious, while another suffered a broken leg.
After pulling the unconscious teen under a tree to protect him from the sun, his friends decided the teen with the broken leg would ride to town and seek help.
After two hours waiting with his unconscious mate, the uninjured teenager decided to ride to the main road, to try and flag down help.
Police and ambulance had already started a search and found the uninjured rider on the highway.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was already in the air and followed him back to the scene, where they located the third motocross rider.
The chopper landed, and the ambulance flight paramedic accessed both riders.
They were both dehydrated and one had suffered two broken wrists in the crash.
Both teenagers were airlifted to the Mount Isa Hospital in a stable condition.
It follows a motorcycle crash in Mount Isa on Saturday and another in Winton on Sunday.
In the Winton incident paramedics assessed a male patient with facial and head injuries following a motorcycle crash on a private property at 6pm.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service retrieved the patient and transported him to Townsville Hospital in a serious condition.
