Firstly, there is a request from the Mount Isa Show Society requesting sponsorship for the upcoming show. The executive recommendation is to provide financial backing to the tune of $25,000 which would make Council a major sponsor.
The Show will be held on June 18-19 at Buchanan Park.
There is also a sponsorship request from the Outback Golf Masters.
Council has received a proposal from Golf Australia to be a host city in the 2022 Outback Queensland Masters Event to be held on July 16-17 at the Mount Isa Golf Club.
The recommendation is to provide $20,000 in sponsorship.
Mount Isa held the inaugural Golf Outback Masters in 2019.
There is a request for participation in the development of a NWQROC Biosecurity Plan to ensure legislative requirements are being met by all participants and to attract more State and Federal Funding/Grants.
The recommendation is for $4000 to support the plan.
There is also a recommendation for Council endorse the RADF Committee's recommendation to approve the Mount Isa Police Station to receive Round 1 2020-21 RADF funding for their project "Mount Isa Police Station Yarning Circle" in the amount of $9383.
