Following the charging of two Townsville truckies, police said that at 11.25pm on Friday, February 19, they intercepted a vehicle on East Street for the purpose of a roadside drug test.
The driver returned a positive result, and was detained where a secondary analysis was conducted, returning a positive result.
A search of the vehicle located a used syringe in the driver's sun visor, a large hunting knife in the driver's door and an extendable baton between the seats.
The 38-year-old Cloncurry man has been charged with drug driving. Investigations are continuing, with more charges to come.
He was issued with a notice of suspension and a notice to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on April 14.
Meanwhile at 8.50pm on Saturday, February 20, police intercepted a vehicle on Tadman Avenue, for an RDT.
The driver returned a positive result, and was detained where a secondary analysis was conducted, returning a positive result.
The 26-year-old Winston man has been charged with drug driving.
He was issued with a notice of suspension and a notice to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on April 14.
In a separate incident, at 11.05pm on the same day, police intercepted a vehicle on Twenty First Avenue for the purpose of an RDT.
The driver returned a positive result, and was detained where a secondary analysis was conducted, returning a positive result.
The 34-year-old Mount Isa man has been charged with drug driving and was issued with a notice of suspension and a notice to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on April 14.
