Part of the state initiative, Queensland Youth Week is an annual celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 and the positive contributions they make to Queensland communities.
This year's Mount Isa Youth Week will be held from 12-16 April with Headspace offering a week's worth of activities to get involved in.
Headspace Community Awareness & Engagement Officer Faye Tapu said each day had something different to offer.
"Monday (April 12) we are having a touch competition and we are trying to get the services in the community to enter the teams, like YPA and Gidgee Healing," Ms Tapu said.
"Tuesday (April 13) we are having a movie day, with the tickets distributed through the schools and youth services.
"Wednesday (April 14) we are having a basketball chill-out with the kids down at Yallambee and Thursday we have hired out the pool from 10am-1pm and we will host a free barbecue.
"Friday (April 16) will be our biggest day, we have a fun day at the skate park with live local entertainment, free food and drinks and the local services will host stalls, activities and free giveaways."
Cancelling the 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Headspace is glad to host the event this year.
"Last year we pretty much had this plan in place but COVID-19 squashed it all, so we wanted to continue to run with the ideas we had," Ms Tapu said.
"It was a bit disappointing that COVID-19 cancelled our plans but we are happy to be back hosting the events this year.
"Headspace has always held an event for Youth Week since we were established in Mount Isa. There is a lot of negative connotations surrounding a minority group of youth in Mount Isa, and we don't display the good things that youth are doing in our community so we want to celebrate them."
