Friends of the man, raised the alarm after he had gone for a bush walk and not returned to camp.
The rescue helicopter was tasked by the Queensland Police Service shortly before 1:30pm on Easter Saturday.
The chopper crew searched for hours, along creek beds and fence lines, but were unable to locate the man.
QPS stood down the crew around 8pm Saturday.
After having been missing for almost 24 hours, police managed to located the man around 8am Easter Sunday.
