Police said that at about 5.20am on Monday, March 8, a man gained entry to a Webb St home, by damaging two separate doors of a rear laundry.

Inside he removed food items, an iPad and a set of vehicle keys, before stealing a car parked in the driveway.

Police said a man who lived in the house ram to the front of the vehicle, which reversed down the driveway in an attempt to stop the man from driving off.

It will be alleged the vehicle struck him on the left side of the body, causing him to fall to the roadway.

The man sustained cuts and bruising as a result.

Witnesses allege the vehicle performed "doughnuts" on Duchess Road, before picking a boy up from Yallambie and driving around the streets of Mount Isa, at high speed.

At about 3pm on Tuesday, April 13, officers from Normanton Police Station attended a Palmer Street address where police said the man pushed past officers and fled on foot.

Police located the man, who was acting aggressively, soon after in the yard of a Landsborough Street address.

A 23-year-old Normanton man has been charged with six counts of trespass, three counts of serious assault police officer and one count each of burglary and commit indictable offence, dangerous operation of a vehicle and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He was denied police bail and has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear in the Normanton Magistrates Court on April 19.
