The Mother's Day Fete was last held in 2019 and cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but is expected to provide an opportunity for local families to come together for a fun evening and purchase any last minute gifts.

Event organiser Kellie Wilson said the fete was the Parents & Friends' major fundraiser for the year with all proceeds going straight back into the school.

"We encourage the wider community to come to the school and enjoy a fun evening," Ms Wilson said.

"We are super excited to be able to host the event this year, a lot of work has been happening behind the scenes.

"It is not just for the St Kieran's community its for the wider community, so its a great time for everyone to come together."

Ms Wilson said there were some new amusement rides from Townsville that would make an appearance for the first time.

"We are bringing out a rock climbing wall, a giant double slide and a chairoplane which we have not had before, in conjunction with some of the usual favourites including the year six haunted house, gymnastics routines and the choir," she said.

"Plenty of stalls and prizes that will also be on display including our cake stalls, jams and preserves, Mother's Day baskets, cents sale, multidraw raffle, pony-poo lotto and colouring in competition.

"And we have expanded our international food stalls with some Fijian and Asian food, as well as the usual hot dogs, ships, burgers and baked potatoes."

Ms Wilson said the event would not be possible without the support of parents, friends, staff, volunteers and supporters.
