Gidgee Healing in partnership with the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, is hosting a Seniors Games Fun Day on May 7 at Three Sons Fitness between 9am and 1pm.
Deadly Choices Acting Regional Manager Melissa Eggmolesse said this was an inaugural event for all Gidgee Healing patients over 50 years old.
"This is the first time we have run this event, invitations have been sent out and we are looking forward to hosting this event," Ms Eggmolesse said.
"COVID-19 stopped a lot of our events last year. A lot of our elders have been stuck at home and haven't had many opportunities to get out and about and socialise with others.
"So we thought it was a good opportunity to get them out of their houses and get socialising again in a safe, cultural appropriate and fun environment."
Ms Eggmolesse said a number of activities and entertainment would be provided on the day.
"Our stakeholders and Gidgee Healing will be hosting a number of different activities, which will be announced closer to the day; but Deadly Choices will be hosting a bit of bowling, hole in the wall, darts and other activities," she said.
"Hopefully it will be a lot of fun, along with some great food and entertainment."
RSVP can be made by calling 4744 9789 and talk to Kerry Parker.
Transport will also be provided, so contact DATSIP or Gidgee Healing if in need of this service.
