Isa Rodeo Chief Executive Officer Natalie Flecker used the rodeo launch on Tuesday to announce the long-awaited news tickets would go on sale Wednesday, May 12 at 9am via www.isarodeo.com.au.
"We have really been heartened by the passion and enthusiasm of our rodeo fans who have been so keen to return to watching the live event and enjoy all the entertainment and Outback hospitality it delivers," Ms Flecker said.
"Our focus has again been on creating a spectacular event which will be safe for our competitors and visitors."
She said the Isa Rodeo was continuing to innovate by introducing new charter flight glamping packages from Brisbane and adding a new barbecue food experience featuring the "Shank Brothers" to its entertainment program.
Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the population of Mount Isa would more than double for Outback Queensland's biggest event.
"Jeans, boots and wide brimmed hats are a must for the iconic Mount Isa Mines Rodeo," Mr Hinchliffe said.
"Now in its 62nd year, the Isa's world-famous rodeo has grown to become the biggest in the southern hemisphere.
"We expect the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo to contribute around $10 million to Mount Isa's tourist economy and encourage visitors to spend longer in Outback Queensland."
Ms Flecker said the nation's top cowboys and cowgirls would compete in eight rodeo events - bull riding, saddlebronc, bareback, ladies barrel race, team roping, rope and tie, steer wrestling and breakaway roping. Nightly concerts will feature Australian entertainment legends Guy Sebastian and Lee Kernaghan, supported by Casey Barnes and Mick Lindsay, along with a free rodeo street festival presented by the Mount Isa City Council; Mailman Express horse races, bush poetry breakfast and a special appearance by the "Shank Brothers".
The Rodeo will be on August 12-15.
