In an entertaining game at Alec Inch Oval in front of over 5000 fans on Saturday night the Legends of League All Stars drew with the Mount Isa All Stars team 34-34.
Following an action packed day on the field, the two teams lined up at 6pm, the All Stars brimming with premiership winning players as well as Origin and international capped legends,
The Isa team featuring the best MIRL talent plus Normanton was handy too and although Darren Smith opened the scoring for the Legends it was the locals who barged into a 12-4 lead with Clinton Fenton benefitting from a surprise "assist" from opponent Kevin Champion to score the easiest try of his life.
Age might have gone against them but there was too much class in the Legends team to lie down and one of the "babies" of the team Ben Hannant still had a scintillating turn of speed which caused havoc in the Mount Isa defence.
Tries from Hannant, Brenton Bowen and Kevin Champion, the latter making up for his earlier error, turned it around to 22-12 to the visitors.
A late charge to Mount Isa wrapped it up at 22-22 at half time with even a ball boy getting on the act, young Cooper Hansen nailing a conversion.
There were tries in the second half to Scott Kyle and David Hudson for the Isa and two for Jamie Feeney for the All Stars.
