Following the 2020 event which was delayed due to COVID, the celebration of Australia's film industry will take over Winton in its usual timeframe from June 25 to July 3.
This year's program is centred around the theme of 'Remember', evoking feelings of nostalgia and capturing Australia's affinity for days gone by.
From Indigenous masterpiece, My Name is Gulpilil to Hollywood blockbusters, Penguin Bloom and The Dry, this year's Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival showcases Australia's breadth of talent and Winton's international reputation as a captivating film destination.
With respect to the Koa people, Traditional Custodians of the land, the festival will also recognise the Year of Indigenous Tourism with First Nations peoples' Dreamtime Stories, the latest feature films featuring Indigenous stories, and film tours with Indigenous tour guides.
My Name is Gulpilil will open the festival on Friday telling the lifestory of David Gulpilil in his own words.
A highlight of Tuesday night will be Penguin Bloom when Oscar nominee Naomi Watts stars with Andrew Lincoln and Jacki Weaver in a heartfelt drama based on a true story.
Another anticipated film will be the Thursday July 1 showing of The Dry, a 2020 Australian mystery drama starring Eric Bana as a Federal Agent who returns to his rural home town after an absence of 20 years to attend the funeral of his childhood friend.
Festival program and tickets are available here.
