The Mount Isa Race Club is gearing up for one of its biggest days of the year on Saturday, the Isa Cup race meet.

There will a five-race card at Buchanan Park with the showcase event the final race of the day, the Cava Mount Isa Cup Quality Open over 1450m with a prize pool of $20,000 on offer.
The race also doubles as an Outback Racing Showcase heat.
There are nine horses listed to compete in the Cup including the Steven Royes-trained Loud Enough which won the Isa Cup last time it was competed in 2019.
There will be fashions on the field on Saturday for $2500 in prizes with a gold, black and white theme and organisers say the decor will live up to the theme.
There will be TAB and bookies onsite with gates opening from 11am and first race at 2pm.
Cost will be $20 for Non Members with platters available to purchase.
