MineX Mount Isa takes place at the Buchanan Park entertainment centre this Wednesday and Thursday and event organiser Beth Anderson is encouraging those thinking about dropping down on their lunch break or staying for The Boos Shop Drinks in Trade to take part in a Buyer Passport Program.
"The program is designed to inject $1000 to two lucky clubs or charities and to encourage mining personnel or business people attending the show to identify themselves as visitor buyers at registration and collect a passport card," Ms Anderson said.
"As they progress around the show talking with exhibitors they will collect stickers on their passport."
She said that when their passport is full they can hand it to the staff at registration who will pop it into the daily draw for the chance to win $500 to go to their nominated local club or charity.
"We encourage Mount Isa businesses and staff to get behind this great local show, with all of the profits going to Commerce North West," she said.
MineX will feature 54 exhibitors from Mount Isa and across Australia.
The program kicks off with a VIP cocktail party on Tuesday at 6pm at the Civic Centre. Tickets are still available through https://www.minexqld.com/
Day one of the show begins with access to the show floor open from 10am.
Delegates will be able grab a coffee and food at the onsite cafe from 10am to 3pm before heading to one of the days iHub speaker sessions then touring the show to see the latest and greatest available within the industry at the exhibitor display's.
Day one is rounded off by "The Boss Shop Drinks In Trade" function from 5pm to 7pm. This function is open for all Mount Isa and Cloncurry Business People to attend and network with the exhibitors. Following this function courtesy shuttles will be running to the Buff's Club for the State of Origin.
On the second day, the Department of Infrastructure, Government and Planning will host a business breakfast at the Buff's Club, featuring key regional project updates with up to three presenters. Tickets are still available through the Eventbrite link on the Minex website.
Following the breakfast the show kicks off for its second day featuring a special career development focused afternoon with an invitation extended to local Schools, TAFE and learning institutions to visit and engage. There is a FREE bus running from Cloncurry State School at 11am on Thursday to the event. It will depart Mount Isa at 3pm. To book a seat call: 0435 600 959
