There is hardly an unoccupied hotel room in the city as delegates come from all parts of Australia - except those locked down in Victoria,
MineX formally kicked off with a reception at the Civic Centre on Tuesday night hosted by event organisers Commerce North West.
Commerce North West president Emma Harman welcomed all visitors to the event.said the event had expanding from being a mining exhibition to showcasing all aspects of the resources industry.
She said a feature of the show would be the iHub where speakers will talk through the expo on various aspects of the industry and networking was also crucial with buyer passports available.
"I encourage you to visit each others exhibits if possible," she said.
Day one begins with access to the show floor open from 10am.
Delegates will be able to grab a steaming hot coffee and something delicious at the onsite cafe run from 10am to 3pm daily by Mount Isa's own Kim Cunningham from Little T Creative & Sweet Treats Boutique.
They can then head to one of the days iHub speaker sessions then touring the show to see the latest and greatest available within the industry at the exhibitor displays.

1.30pm Alister Berkeley, Chief Financial Officer - Martinus Rail
1.45pm Gina Wilson, Corporate Development Manager - Jemena
2.15pm John Young, Maintenance and Engineering - MMG
2.30pm Andrew Barger, Policy Director - Qld Resources Council
Day one is rounded off by "The Boss Shop Drinks In Trade" function from 5pm to 7pm.
This function is open for all Mount Isa and Cloncurry Business People to attend and network with the exhibitors.
Following this function courtesy shuttles will be running to the Buff's Club for the State of Origin.
The Expo concludes Thursday June 10.
