New owners hope to drive forward DD Group International, a 100 % Queensland owned business working in the Workwear, Safety Consumable and Site Hire Solutions market with a branch in Mount Isa.
The company has recently changed hands and is now under the leadership of owner and sole director Tanya Macnamara and CEO John Macnamara.
Tanya Macnamara has owned and managed successful businesses previously, and husband John has from a background in safety, mine maintenance, and the civil construction industries.
They decided that they wanted to combine forces and invest in making an impact where it truly matters.
"At the core of all companies, there are people and their families. We are passionate about keeping them safe and well," John said.
"We take pride in providing safe solutions to clients who take the welfare of their employees seriously."
Mr Macnamara said most workplace accidents occured when people are just doing their job.
"We work with our partners to ensure the correct solutions are available before they are needed."
They say they are investing in employment and growth within Queensland with recruitment, including new job creation in Brisbane and North West Queensland with a Branch now in Mount Isa.
Mount Isa was an obvious choice for the business because that is where John and Tanya were born and bred.
John did his boilermaker trade at Mount Isa Mines and Tanya's father worked for MIM for almost 40 years.
They have engaged another Mount Isan, rugby league legend Scotty Prince as a brand ambassador.
Mr Prince said he was proud to represent DD Group International because his own father worked until retiring at Mount Isa Mines.
"It really mattered that my Dad as the sole provider for our family got home safe and to meet and get to know why John and Tanya do what they do, I just felt their belief and I know that people matter to me as well,' he said.
The Macnamaras have also sponsored Mount Isa Mines Rodeo as avid fans and both have fond memories of attending previous events with Tanya's parents previously volunteering at the event.
