It represents the biggest single day total in June in the city since 2007.
The Bureau predicted rain and it delivered in spades.
Mount Isa had the biggest falls in the region with New May Downs getting 41.2mm, Lake Julius 37.6mm, Cloncurry 31.8mm, Julia Creek 29.6mm, Carters Bore 20.8mm, Camooweal 17.6mm, Trepell Airport 16.6mm.
Cloncurry had its highest June daily rainfall since 1998 while Julia Creek saw its highest June daily rainfall since 2007.
The rain got to Bedourie which got 24.0mm though Birdsville missed out.
There was no rain in the Gulf though Century Mine had 7.6mm.
For Friday, Mount Isa will see another cloudy day with a slight (30%) chance of rain early in the morning.
It will be a cool few days with a max of 19 degrees Friday and Saturday.
The sunny weather returns on the weekend with temps slowly rising to the mid to high 20s by mid next week.
Lake Moondarra is at 60.34pc full while Lake Julius is 90.53pc though these totals should rise with the overnight rain.
