Following great work on water tanks in Mount Isa and Cloncurry, it's Hughenden's turn to get a make over.
Artists Artists Joel Fergie (The Zookeeper) and Travis Vinson (DRAPL) already have credentials for their large scale work across rural Queensland including this magnificent silo in Thallon while the Zookeeper painted the Cloncurry tank at the lookout.
For the last week or so they have been painting local landscapes onto a couple of Hughenden water towers.
DRAPL said they completed the first piece above showing a giant boy with a toy dinosaur in five days.
"I am stoked with how professionally zookeeper got this concept together in an afternoon," DRAPL said.
"We have worked on a lot of projects together and this was such a fun way to paint using a lot more brush than usual and a more toned down pallet to handle the outback sun
In a Facebook post about a second tower artist DRAPL said part 1 depicted the local views and the magnificent new lake in the heart of town.
"(The) Zookeeper and I packed a lot of colours onto this one to try and compete with the spectacular sunsets," DRAPL said.
