The North West Queensland landcare organisation said the Rangelands region encompasses nearly 80pc of Australia's interior, housing varied terrain and water was vital to all these differing landscape types, a scarce commodity during recent drought conditions.
The conference, which runs from October 5-8 in Longreach has a lineup of key note speakers, panel discussions and practical demonstrations which focus on the collaboration and sharing of innovative ideas to improve future drought resilience.
Southern Gulf NRM CEO Geoff Penton said they were passionate about ensuring this type of knowledge is shared and distributed as much as possible.
"For this reason, we are offering financial assistance for up to 20 landholders from the Southern Gulf regional area to attend the conference," Mr Penton said.
"Up to 10 young in the grazing industry (25 years and under) will receive a contribution of $1000 each to put toward their trip and up to 10 landholders or managers who attend will also receive $800 each."
Eligible candidates for each category should contact Southern Gulf NRM as soon as possible.
