The state government were one of the sponsors of the game and they have put together a 90-second video from the event highlighting the significance of rugby league in regional Queensland communities and residents, and encapsulating what the Legends of League event is all about.
The May 29 event was centred around a celebrity game between rugby league legends against a strong local side but also featured local games and had a strong health message.
The video shared by Mount Isa City Council shows highlights from the day at Alec Inch Oval which attracted a crowd of over 5000.
Captions on the video said rugby league was more than just a game to regional and rural Queenslanders.
"People come to get outside and enjoy, connect with friends, watch their favourite players and dream," the state government said in the video.
With the help of local partners Gidgee Healing and North West Hospital and Health Service, we engaged with the community in a unique and positive way.
They said they issued 1000 information packs on the day delivering "clear mental wellness and community health messages".
