There are no lockdowns in the North West and you can take your pick from camels, horses, rugby league and golf - and if you survive all that there is Survivor itself to end the weekend with.
Hard to pick what is the biggest event of the weekend, but the Melbourne Cup of camel racing in Boulia, 300km south of Mount Isa, would be up there.
Boulia transforms from a town of 300 to a small city of 3000 for a weekend extravaganza of events, culminating in the 1500m Boulia Cup on Sunday.
The races will bring together some of the best camel trainers in Australia and there is also live entertainment and the hilarious camel tagging. Camping at the Boulia Racecourse is available and is included with a full weekend entry ticket.
Meanwhile over in Hughenden, the sold-out Outback Golf Masters rolls on, as it heads to the million dollar challenge in Longreach next week.
The action heats up at Hughenden Golf Club Saturday and Sunday with live entertainment on offer.
Just 100km down the road in Richmond, it's footy on offer for QRL Country Week.
The highlight is the QRL game between the South Logan Magpies and the Townsville Blackhawks but it's also a festival of junior footy with Mount Isa well represented. The action takes place Saturday afternoon.
Over in the Curry, the Stockmans Challenge has been thrilling visitors to the Cloncurry Equestrian Centre all week. The action concludes this weekend as the top stockmen and women in the country vie for honours. Entry is free.
Then on Sunday locals will flock to the shire hall when the locally-filmed Survivor Australia season premieres and you can cheer on your favourites brains or brawns.
There will be a free barbecue and popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase. Doors open 6pm.
