The big event, 100km north west of Mount Isa on the Barkly Hwy to Camooweal, was due to go ahead last month, but was forced to be cancelled at the last minute due to heavy unseasonal rain.
But this time there's no stopping the action following in the footsteps of the Cloncurry Stockmans Challenge last week with AACo bringing in the cattle from Avons Downs just across the border.
The campdraft action started at 7am Friday morning with the first round of the open competition.
The maiden for maiden started at noon with a juvenile competition starting at 3pm.
The action resumes 7am Saturday with the second round of the open, followed at 8.30am with the restricted open, then a mini draft, and the finals in the maiden for maiden, restricted open, ladies shootout and open finals.
The rodeo kicks off at 1.30pm with Novice A and B finals to wrap things up on the Sunday.
