The event raising funds for the Golden Octopus Foundation will take place on Sunday September 12 at the hockey fields starting at 4pm.
Organiser Ranita Toholke said they were hoping to make a family friendly event with market stalls, live music, bar and food facilities.
"This event stared because a family friend's six-year-old nephew was diagnosed with leukaemia," Ms Toholke said.
"It broke our hearts watching this family go through this ordeal and we wanted to do something to help."
She said the Golden Octopus Foundation helped the family like they do for so many other families going through this.
"They are a foundation that supports all childhood cancer patients," she said.
"We need 350 people to break the record, all people have to do is pre register pay a small fee of $10, supply their own set of battery operated clippers and be at the event by 4.30 pm."
Participants can shave their own head or have some one shave it for them.
Participant can also individually fundraise for their chosen charities should they wish to through go fund me pages.
All local cancer charities are invited to attend and have a stall as well and any local market stalls are welcome to join in as well.
