Mark Friday, September 3 in your diaries, because that's the date the Festival returns to its usual home outside the Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Stanley St.
Organised under the auspices of the Church, this will be the 25th anniversary of the festival which celebrates the cultural diversity of the city.
Multicultural festival entertainment coordinator Khovy Inthavong said this year's theme was South Asia celebrating the people and culture of India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Myanmar (Burma).
"It's quite a diverse region," Mr Inthavong said.
"The entertainment on the night builds on the fantastic work done in previous years."
Mr Inthavong said many local groups wanted to get involved, so there will be plenty of music, singing and dancing, and a choir.
"There will be two Nepalese dancers from Brisbane that we've booked which will be exciting," he said.
There will be plenty of South Asian cuisine to sample, as well as other food from across the world.
Father Mick Lowcock called the festival a "taste of culture" and a chance to experience not just the food but the music and culture of the region.
Festival chair Tony McGrady said the festival is a celebration of the history of Mount Isa.
"We have people from 52 different countries living here free from racial strife," Mr McGrady said.
"This is a celebration of the harmony people live in Mount Isa."
Queensland Minister for Multicultural Affairs Leanne Linard will on hand to officially open the festival which starts at 6pm on the night.
There will be a childrens fashion parade and there will be a cultural display inside the church on the night,
There will be a bar, cafe, raffles, cent sales, kids games and more with a cash draw at the end of the night for anyone who has purchased anything at the festival.
