And Ricardo Audish's moral culpability was not reduced by any mental health condition alleged by the defence, prosecutor Kate Nightingale said on Friday.

The 42-year-old faced a sentence hearing in the NSW District Court after a jury found him guilty in March of three counts of aggravated sexual assault in company.

When the jury left the courtroom he yelled there was "no evidence" and the police "tried to hide the whole truth," while labelling the victim a "prostitute" and hurling a number of other insults at the prosecutors of his case.

The 18-year-old victim was found to have been raped in a southern Sydney eatery in October 2016.

Earlier in the evening, the woman consented to sex with her boyfriend in a toilet cubicle, before he told her "all the other boys want to have sex with you now", to which she replied "hell no".

As she was pulling up her underwear another male entered and offered her a bong with cannabis, which she smoked twice, and which was suspected of having been spiked.

Ms Nightingale said the offending had been a joint criminal enterprise involving providing the woman with a substance to override her refusal.

CCTV footage showed her "sure-footed" walking and sometimes jogging upstairs before the incident, compared to after where she is seen walking slowly, stumbling and leaning on a pole for 17 minutes to regain balance.

Audish was the first of the three offenders to have sexual intercourse without consent, while he was present for the other two acts.

A passer-by later found the teenager on a road weeping, shaking and disorientated, and called emergency services.

She later revealed: "They all took turns in me,".

Referring to Audish's prospects of rehabilitation, Ms Nightingale said a large part of this involved remorse and contrition "of which he has shown none at all".

The woman, whose victim impact statement was read out in a closed court, had been greatly affected by the crimes.

Audish's barrister, Greg James QC, said his client was not the "promoter or originator" of the gang rape, submitting it had been opportunistic.

He cited evidence from a psychologist who said Audish was likely to suffer from PTSD, having experienced a deprived and brutalised childhood in Iraq.

"He is apparently a good family man," Mr James said.

After the woman spoke to police, an intercepted phone call showed Audish demanding to know what the boys had told police "so we know what we are going to say".

Mr James said this and other subsequent conduct was not an aggravating factor, but an attempt to avoid responsibility.

Judge David Arnott will sentence him on August 27.
