Queensland has recorded one new locally-acquired case of COVID-19.
The case is a female student at the the Sir Thomas Moore College at Sunnybank and is under investigation and as a precaution the school will be closed down Friday.
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said all children are being picked up by the parents this morning and their whole households are going into 14-day home quarantine.
One new case has also emerged on a ship.
The new local case comes a day after a NSW truck driver tested positive to COVID-19 after visiting two suburbs in Brisbane on September 5 and 6.
The driver was infectious with the Delta variant in the community in Archerfield and Mount Gravatt, in southern Brisbane, on Sunday and Monday and tested positive in NSW after returning from Queensland.
