It follows the state government announcement of a parliamentary review into regional trading hours.
Major shops such as Coles and Woolies in places like Mount Isa are unable to open on Sunday and reforms enacted in 2017 to the Trading (Allowable Hours) Act 1990 put the matter on hold for five years.
Commerce North West said reforms introduced by the Palaszczuk government in 2017 included the establishment of special trading zones with relaxed rules for shops in tourist hotspots.
"They also prevented larger retailers from trading on Sundays and public holidays in many smaller towns and centres around the state," the local chamber said.
Queensland Parliament's Education, Employment and Training Committee is inquiring into Queensland's trading hours arrangements.
These arrangements set the hours and days of the week that retailers across the state can trade, including on Sundays and public holidays and at special events. The committee will also consider the role of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission in setting trading hours, and how the regulation of trading hours affects Queensland's economy and regional communities.
Commerce North West said they and and Mount Isa City Council will be compiling a written submission to advocate for our regional business.
"So it is vital that we have a broad range of responses to gauge the true sentiments, especially on this long-standing debate," they said.
"So jump on today and tell us what you really think."
The survey closes 5pm October 13 and can be found here.
