Following closed business at its September meeting Mount Isa City Council agreed to add names to the committee.
They include former residents John Moran and Steve Trevor who came to Mount Isa last year to lobby for the proposal to recognise those who have died while mining in Mount Isa.
Bob and Robbie Katter, the federal and state members are on the committee as is former state member and minister Tony McGrady.
Also on the committee are Georgie Lucas (Manager Department of Resources Community), Mick Bakhash from Bakhash Safety Business and Adrian Cameron (both business reps) and Erwin Raffetseder, Luke Johnson, Clint Brennan, Michael Maschke, Luke Mandaran and Craig Clewes (all resident reps).
Council approved contacting Glencore Mount Isa Mines to request a representative to be a member of the Miners Memorial Advisory Committee while Mayor Danielle Slade and Cr Kim Coghlan were appointed ex-officio members.
The committee members were appointed for three year terms with the possibility of a one year extension.
The Miners' Memorial Advisory Committee aims to give representatives from the community, government and businesses the opportunity to provide advice and feedback to Council on matters relevant to the proposed Miners Memorial, to be unveiled in 2023 during Mount Isa's centenary year celebrations.
Mr Moran first raised the possibility of a memorial wall in a letter to the North West Star in 1998 and reiterated his call in January 2020 after Moranbah launched its miners memorial.
He said Cr Slade was very supportive of their proposed memorial to mine workers killed at MIM and also that the project should be embraced as a Mount Isa centenary event, which is in 2023.
Mount Isa Mines celebrates its 100th anniversary a year later in 2024.
