NWHHS invited Mount Isa residents to Sunset Oval on Tuesday night for a "jab and a snag" with Cowboys footy legends Matty Bowen and Antonio Winterstein.
There was a free barbecue, vaccination clinics, meet and greet and prizes and Bowen and Winterstein also went to Mornington Island and Doomadgee as the North West Hospital and Health Service and Gidgee Healing tries to lift Indigenous vaccination rates
"It was wonderful to see the local community getting involved and making the most of having helpful staff around to answer any questions you might have had about the COVID-19 vaccine," NWHHS said.
"Thank you the wonderful vaccination team who continue to work tirelessly and with a smile on their face every single day - the work you do is so important and you are appreciated.
"And of course, these events would not have been possible without the support from Rex Airlines and North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Thank you for supporting North West communities to step up, make the choice and protect themselves and their community."
