Mount Isa School of Dance is very excited to be back with a big concert at the Civic Centre this year after not being able to have one last year due to COVID and is performing Under the Sea at two performances this weekend.
MISOD dance teacher Peta Wirth said Under the Sea was based upon the classic story of The Little Mermaid.
"We've got kids from ages four to 18 in the show, about 200 students," Ms Wirth said.
"They do jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary and funk and they do one musical theatre number where they are singing as well."
Ms Wirth said they had a small concert in 2020 but it was nothing major like this one.
"This one has smoke and lights and kids are getting excited with their costumes coming," she said.
"It'll be a great night and people will know all the songs, and there'll be a lot of acting as well as dancing."
Mount Isa School of Dance acknowledged the funding assistance from Mount Isa City Council.
