Cloncurry Shire Council.
Council awarded three big contracts in the March meeting.
Council authorised the CEO to negotiate and enter into a contract with Gulf Civil Pty Ltd for the civil construction works of Sir Hudson Fysh Drive Pavement Widening and Upgrade for $3,338,198.37. Council also re-allocated an additional $768,544 to fund the completion of the project.
Council also awarded a contract to Auzscot Constructions for the Design, Supply, and Install of the Cloncurry Saleyards Project - Bull Pens for $427,068. Council also re-allocated an additional $169,075 to fund the completion of the project.
The third big contract was a $402,395 contract awarded to Arid to Oasis Solutions Pty Ltd (trading as Auzscot Constructions) for the construction of the Path to Chinaman Creek Dam (Stage 1).
Boulia Shire Council
Boulia also awarded three contract to Auzscot Constructions. The first was a Road Signage Replacement projects, the second Remove and Replace Cloncurry Culverts, the third Supply and Installation of Concrete Works Tender (Dajarra Rehab).
Council awarded a contract for Gravel Crushing and Stockpile (Dajarra Rehab) to PE & GC Harris Road Contractors Pty Ltd. The meeting minutes did not include the dollar value of the contracts.
Council will support the RFDS by contributing financially to their Inaugural Mount Isa RFDS Hangar Ball this year in purchasing the Gold Level Sponsorship to the amount of $10,000.
Burke Shire Council
Council is inviting tenders for sale of seven vacant residential lots at Gregory. The only service to the land blocks is water access. These blocks are surplus to Council's requirements, have ongoing maintenance costs and if sold, will generate future rates income. All seven residential blocks will be sold "As is where is". The proceeds received from the sale will go to the future upgrade of the Gregory Depot.
Council had a report from Gulf Savannah Development which announced a new CEO Mark Forbes.
Council had an approach from the Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation about holding a an Easter Burketown Fishing Competition and requesting in-kind assistance. The event is in lieu of the cancelled Burketown Barramundi Fishing Organisation Inc fishing competition. Council will provide $1000 plus in kind support.
Carpentaria Shire Council
Mayor Jack Bawden reported on the 2022 Western Qld Assembly of Councils meeting in Charleville. He said the meeting discussed housing, digital connectivity, financial sustainability, roads infrastructure. He said the Assembly proposed the 22 WQAC Councils financially contribute to the Premier's Flood Appeal for the 22 local government disaster declared areas from Wide Bay to the South East Queensland corner - "Twenty-two for Twenty-two!". The amount of $5000 per Council was suggested. Carpentaria will also send a bobcat and the small Isuzu Tipper to Brisbane to assist in the clean-up.
Council agreed a fee waiver of $3,830 to Normanton Rodeo Association for the annual four-day event held in June 2022.
Council approved four additional self-contained Cabins at the Sunset Caravan Park.
Council awarded contract to Barto's Construction for the Normanton Disaster Coordination Centre.
Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council
Senior leaders from North West Hospital and Health Service visited Doomadgee Council after the Four Corners revelations. The Council told the NWHHS representatives the North West has a very high indigenous population and they have been left out of the board. "Would have been good to see that proper representation (cultural etc) had not been addressed," Council said in its March meeting minutes. "People in Doomadgee will not go to the hospital because of what has happened previously. Need to pull everyone together for a future meeting where the Council, Councillors, Health Commission and the Community are involved. The Hospital needs to embrace the Community and get to know the people."
Flinders Shire Council
Council supported an application to the North Queensland Sport's Foundation's - Move it program for $10,000 for the Fitness in Flinders program and approved the Council contribution of up to $15,000 from the current sports and recreation budget.
Council provide the Hughenden Show Society with a letter of support for their application to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund to build a new shed at the Showgrounds, to be used for trade pavilion for Hughenden Show, but also be available to other community events and clubs in the showgrounds.
Council awarded the Shopfront Improvement Grant funding to Hughenden Freight and Industrial for $2,063.55
McKinlay Shire Council
In a special meeting March 1 Council submitted application to LRCIP Funding Round 3 for Burke St Footpath Stage 1 for $270,000 and awarded Burke St Upgrade Stage 1, and Culvert Replacement contract to Durack Civil Pty Ltd.
In its regular meeting March 15 Council reallocated $34,800 from Julia Ck Water Supply Hydraulic Modelling to Kynuna Water Treatment Review.
Council funded local organisations the following amounts under the Community Benefit Assistance Scheme program: Julia Creek State School Chaplaincy - $1,379 and Julia Creek Combined Sporting Association - $1,972.75.
Council approved the Quick Response application from Julia Creek Dirt & Dust Festival for $4950 to support roving circus performers and children's workshop.

Council approved a Development Application for the Tourist Park, 94 Goldring Street, and 71-75 Crawford Street.
Winton Shire Council
Council approved a concept plan for developing a Market Place as an innovative community space adjacent to the Willie Mar Market Garden site at 74 Riley Street and will apply for funding.
Council will support the Winton Creative Arts Group's Sculpture Competition to the amount of $10,000.
