It is somewhat disappointing that Mr Last sees the election of the Speaker of the House as a major issue for his electorate and constituents.
Maybe this explains why the LNP has so little representation in North Queensland.
I can guarantee there are plenty of issues Dale’s constituents rate much higher than the election of a Speaker.
I would be happy to provide Dale with a list and get him up to speed with real North Queensland issues.
Quite simply, the government with a majority will always elect their own speaker and that is what happened in Parliament.
I seconded the motion for the Speaker to get the issue done and stop delaying the inevitable.
Let us now turn to the record of Dale Last serving North Queensland compared to ours.
He sat idly by while the KAP drove the ethanol mandate and forced it through parliament - and he did his best to claim credit afterwards.
He voted with the ALP to block the Rural Reconstruction Board, a precursor to a State Development Bank.
He voted with the ALP to block KAP attempts to give farmers ‘As of Right’ access to Category H firearms - after claiming to fight for that same right.
He voted with ALP to block the Fair Milk Mark which would have helped dairy farmers in North Queensland get a better price.
He blocked our attempts to even get our Crocodile Bill debated to allow better management of crocodile numbers and finally, he gave the government the critical votes they needed to get their last (2017) budget through when KAP voted against it, which would have been the end of the last ALP government.
Clearly, Dale has much more in common with the ALP on these critical issues than we do, if his voting is anything to go by.
On behalf of Northern Queenslanders I encourage Dale to look to his electorate and his constituents, roll up his sleeves and get to work finding some important issues to concentrate on.

Bob is at it again
We are all human and we make mistakes.
The good Christian moralist Barnaby Joyce made dozens of mistakes and committed many sins.
What did our moralist Christian Bob Katter have to say about it all?
Please, fellas, not staff,” Katter said on Sky the other day.
“I mean, you’re in such an enormously influential position with staff.”
So His Bobbliness thinks it's okay to abuse a position, as long as it's not staff?
It didn't take me too long in 2018 to think that Bob Katter is a fossil.

People had suggestions how to improve Splashez Swimming Pool as Mount Isa City Council’s seeks community input.
Minnie Sarmardin Put in a lap pool so you get to use the main as a whole. Chairs and table close near the kids pool. More shade.
Suzie Anne Fix the clock or put another one up. Fix the broken tiles on the bottom of the pool. This could be a much more enjoyable place for families if the council would put a little money towards more equipment. For example more chairs, barbecues, lie lows maybe a jumping pillow or play area for children in the unused grass area etc. There is so much room in that place could be utilised and give families more to do in Mount Isa
