Cricketers came together on Sunday for the annual cricket Transplant Bash between the albion DonateLife Everyday Heroes and Lucky Stars. In action were organ recipients, donors and families in addition to several sporting personalities including former Australian Test cricketer Tony Dodemaide, Cricket Victoria CEO Andrew Ingleton and former Big Bash player Liam Bowe. Dodemaide captained the Lucky Stars, upon winning the toss he elected to field first. The albion DonateLife Everyday Heroes made 241 off 30 overs and in reply the Lucky Stars made 191. However, the aim of the day was to raise awareness about the importance of organ donors and recipients. It's puts a spotlight on an important topic and is a prime example of how organ donations give individuals the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.
