Offenders Carl and Jeffrey Bambrick were released from the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Tuesday without conviction, with magistrate Rod Madsen deeming their Queensland Rugby League-enforced sanctions as significant enough.
Carl Bambrick _ initially faced with one charge of assault occasioning bodily harm _ was ordered to pay $500 for the injury inflicted on Gallagher, and additionally serve an 18-month good behaviour bond worth $1000.
He has also been banned from rugby league for 10 years while his father, Jeffrey, received a two-year punishment.
Gallagher _ who declined to comment on Tuesday's findings _ said he was happy to continue refereeing in Normanton, but said he would steer clear of Wanderers games.
``I'll still do a bit of referring up here,'' he said.
``There are plenty of other guys here in town [Normanton] who are refs as well.''
The Mid-West Rugby League competition continues this weekend with matches in Mount Isa and Hughenden.
