The last confirmed sighting of Kyle was when he was with his friend James in a silver-gold (misty onyx) dual-cab Holden Colorado at the Mount Isa Shell truck port service station.
He was spotted there about 11.45am on Friday, February 21.
Kyle’s family contacted police when he failed to return home or report for work.
More than 60 police officers, 26 SES volunteers, 60 members of the public and eight helicopters and fixedwing aircraft searched more than 11,000 square metres between Mount Isa and Camooweal.
Four days after the search for Kyle began, his friend James took his own life.
A family friend of the Colemans said that while police had scaled back their search efforts due to a lack of new information, the investigation was ongoing.
Kyle’s family and friends continue to search for him.
Fund-raising has begun to cover the costs associated with searching, including fuel, safety equipment, vehicle maintenance and food.
The family friend said any piece of information might help lead police to Kyle.
‘‘Please call Crime Stoppers and report it, your identity can remain unknown as no details need be given,’’ the friend said.
‘‘There is no excuse for not reporting.’’
