Both sides went down by less than a converted try at the weekend, and for the Dingoes, the loss was even more damaging.
Captain Tom Robertson and Cam McKirrow will both miss the match this week with, respectively, a broken foot and concussion, while Cody Saltmere is out of town.
“We are probably missing seven of our starters this week through injury and players being away,” Robertson said.
“But that creates an opportunity for our younger and less experienced players to prove themselves.
“A full team effort is going to be need, that’s for sure.”
At training, the Dingoes have been concentrating on their breakdowns and securing the ball.
“Last week against Cloncurry we were probably guilty of not clearing the ruck quick enough, which resulted in us being penalised,” Robertson said.
“If we can correct those errors and bring the energy and structure that we played with in the opening 20 minutes last week, we should be right in the match.
“We will be capping our players at 25 for all the games going forward, because last week we found out the hard way how impossible it is to manage.
“We hope this change will not only help build cohesion but develop combinations between key players.”
Keas will hope the return of star back Kaine Manihera will power them to their first victory of the season.
The match kicks off at 7.30pm at Mount Isa’s Rugby Park.
