A great line-up of events and activities in stall for attendees for the day which represents an opportunity for all female supporters to dress up and enjoy an afternoon of action-packed rugby on display.
The event starts at 6pm and goes until midnight and include Fashions on the Field, an auction Mount Isa Rugby’s best bachelors, and the chance to win more than $500 in the Jackpot Joker competition.
The highlight of the day is bound to be the player auction with five players up for grabs for bidders.
All proceedings from the player auction will be equally split down the middle going into the Mount Isa Representative team trip and the McGrath Foundation.
In the opening game, Cloncurry will look to make ground on top-two rivals Euros.
Euros, coming off the back of a 12-all draw against Keas, will go into the game with the upper hand of defeating Question Marks in the last outing.
However Cloncurry, who competed very well in their loss to Warrigals 23-15, will be within a great shout for victory if they can avoid a slow start to their game as shown in previous weeks.
In the other game, Warrigals will look to contain the other in-form team of the competition Keas.
Warrigals comfortably claimed victory over their opponent last time around but Keas will be out to prove that past result meaningless.
Warrigals captain Tom Robertson expects his side to be rotated for this fixture, and possibly in the following weeks.
“This week we’re trying to give players some minutes who haven’t had that much time in the season,” Robertson said.
“If Cloncurry are able to knock Euros over, we might be able to rest players again and not worry about chasing the minor premiership.”
Tickets for Ladies Day are $30 which includes a three-hour drink package (champagne, soft drink, water), canapés, DJ music from 9.30pm, Fashions on the Field, and player auctions.
Great prizes are on offer provided from local businesses including Cinema Mount Isa.
