BLAZERS A snatched a narrow win over Home Boiz 33-1 in an entertaining match-up in round 13 of the A Grade men’s Mount Isa Basketball Association matches.

Blazers player Jade Geary (11 points) put the early points on the board but Home Boiz player Warren King (six points) matched the opposition. With the scores level after the first quarter, Home Boiz player Aaron Quilty showed great form scoring 18 points for the night. Paul Scarsi (four points) and Ash Williamson (two points) also added a combined six points for Home Boiz. Blazers A player Jamie Soapi (six points) also played well while Scott Amor (six points) dropped in two brilliant three-pointers. Celtics A claimed a comfortable 24-point victory over Pandamonium A winning 57-33. Clancy Royes (four points) and Shane McDonald (five points) started the game well dropping in some first half points each for Celtics. Pandamonium A player Zachery Bell had a fantastic game dropping in a valuable 17 points for his team while teammate Brendan Parker showed his class with three well executed three-pointers. But Celtics A player Matthew Taylor was in too good of form dropping in a game-high of 29 points. Teammate Lloyd Isaacson was everywhere in defense and also scored eight points in the second half. Alexander Parker and Blain McCormack also scored three points each for the losing side.
In the B-Grade men’s clashes, North West Crane Hire and Celtics B played an outstanding game of basketball with NWCH just snatching the win 43-42. In a game where only one point separated the two sides in every quarter, NWCH player Roderick Sapinosa showed his shooting class dropping in 23 points for the team, and was the top scorer of the game. Mervyn Kupfer also played well putting 16 points on the board for NWCH. Celtics B player Bradley Coonan, who was all over the court in both defense and offense, netted 25 points by himself while teammate Mark Fox also scored four points for the team. NWCH players Jay Garder and Jayem Sapinosa also added a combined four points for the team. Manila defeated Phantoms 40-32 in what was another neck-and-neck game. Manila players Christian Manuel (five points) and Melcon Repaso (nine points) were the first to put points on the scoreboard in the match. However, Phantoms players Jerome Sapoaga (six points) and Ryan Spear (five points) were quick to reply leveling up the scores at the end of the first quarter. But as the game progressed, Manila player Genesis Gayagoy (seven points) dropped in some valuable baskets for her team, who was beginning to dominate the game.
Manila players Joseph Canizares also scored three points while Warren Hemi scored two. Phantoms Rohan Griffiths (six points) and Joel Glasscock (four points) were standouts.
Jay Santos (18 points) and Jomari Caseres (15 points) inspired Ballers in their 52-32 win over Red Backs. Ballers players Laban Ibardolaza and Michael Bantaculo each scored five points in their team’s win while Ron Libria also notched a three-pointer. Red Backs players Myles Turnham (13 points), Derek Collinson (six points), and Kris Greenhalgh (six points) had notable performances, adding a combined 25 points for their team.
David Howe and Kuda Tagwi also scored two points each for Red Backs. In the other game, Suds In The Bucket got back to winnings ways with a victory over Pandamonium B, who forfeited.
