The selection for Queensland’s pinnacle female squad follows the announcement by the International Olympic Committee of the re-instatement of softball to the 2020 Tokyo Games – which no doubt will spur the 23-athlete Queensland Heat squad on.
Jeloudev - who currently resides on Thursday Island - was named as a member of the squad after putting on stand-out performances over the selection period at the national level and at the recent Open Women’s State Softball Championships, September 2-4
The Squad will now train towards the 71st Australian Women’s National Championships on January 2-8 in Blacktown, NSW, next year. The Heat are current National Champions, having claimed the 2016 title.
Australia’s Open Women’s Team, the Aussie Spirit, will then go on to be selected following Nationals.
