Racers were greeted with hot and blistering conditions to start their championship campaigns on Saturday, March 18, with racing throughout all classes just as hot.
In the Cadet 9 class Myles Campbell got his campaign off to the perfect start by winning all 5 races. Sisters Tara and Allisa Sidnell started their title bids in the same fashion with younger sister Tara setting some extremely fast lap times on her way to victory the KA4 Junior Class.
Allisa followed suit, taking the win in the KA3 Senior light class whilst also setting a lap record along the way.
In the Tag 125 Heavy class Mark Bond took the win ahead of Adam Chirio who was plagued with electrical gremlins throughout the night. In KA3 Senior Medium Thomas Glasson and Trevor Hollyman went toe to toe all night with Glasson eventually taking the win.
He came out ahead of Hollyman and Louis Lowe in third who in only his fourth ever race meeting has impressed all with the speed he shown.
After suffering a slowly deflating rear tire and mechanical troubles early Scott Geary recovered well to finish in fourth position ahead of Brett Twyford and Tony Campbell.
Racers will return to the track on April 1st for Round 2, with the action kicking off from 3pm in the afternoon. Spectator entry is free with canteen facilities available.
