At Sunset Oval Cavs won the toss against the Blackstars and batted first. But they ran into Cyclone Andrew with Starries’ Andrew Lawrenson taking a phenomenal seven wickets for eight runs while D. Munns chipped in for two wickets as the Cavs were skittled for 120. Sam Peters played a lone hand with 55 for Cavs.
In reply Blackstars comfortably knocked off the required runs for the loss of just two wickets with Ash Benson 28 not out and Cam Conlan 40 not out bringing the game home.
Over in Cloncurry cricket resumed after a long hiatus in town at the Recreation Grounds.
Western Bulls dished a tough lesson to the home side smashing 261 runs in their 40 overs.
At the top of the order A Morrisby (70) and Nick Donker (52) both made half centuries to set the platform for victory. H. Harrison took 2/29.
In reply Cloncurry Heat made 155 (H Raghunath 46).
F Khan, M Jerome, J Diamond and K Anderson all took two wickets apiece.
