The 42km canoeing marathon, to be held on Sunday, May 6, is run by Mount Isa’s North West Canoe Club and you can register now for the classic or the recreational short course on their website.
Online registrations are open until Friday April 27, which is one week before the actual event.
You will still be able to register for the event on Saturday May 5 – one day before the event – at the North West Canoe Club registration table at the Gregory races between 11am and 1pm.

It costs $100 to enter the long course and $50 to enter the short course with prizes to the overall winner and different categories.
The overall race record stands at 2 hours 43 minutes and 23 seconds set by Matt Flower and Chad Meek in 2001.
The club offers $2000 to anyone who can beat this time.
