Now he is set for another big trip – being one of many headline acts at Winton’s Way Out West festival next month, though he is no stranger to our shore.
The North West Star spoke to Moore in Nashville, who said this would be his third visit to Australia, indeed to Queensland.
“I did CMC (Rocks) festival last two times I’ve been over there,” Moore said.

“We’ve formed a pretty special bond. We moved more records in a day than I ever had in my career last time I played there.”
When asked what did he think resonated with Australian audiences, he replied “I like to think it is the authenticity of the music, the maturity of the music.”
Moore followed up the success of Up All Night with 2015’s sonically bold and critically revered second effort, Wild Ones and released his third album Slowheart in November 2017 which he plans to showcase in Winton.
“All the publications had it on the top of their lists for 2017 so I feel good about the direction we’re going,” he said.
“I plan on playing most of the Slowheart album and I’ll dip into Wild Ones a bit, and Up all Night as well.”
Way Out West festival is on April 19-22.
