In the top of the ladder clash Bulls and Atlas shared eight goals in a 4-4 thriller while Parkside and Isaroos battled it out for a 2-2 draw in the late game.
The results leave Atlas and Bulls sharing honours at the top with 10 points each from their five games each side having won, drawn one and lost one, with Atlas ahead by one on goal difference.
Isaroos have four points ahead on goal difference from defending Premiers Parkside who have made a sluggish start to the season also on four points.
In B-Grade Parkside B went down to Cloncurry and the hosts rose to the occasion holding the visitors to a 3-3 draw continuing their good start to the season.
In the only decisive result of the day in men’s seniors soccer Concordia proved to strong for Isaroos B running out 6-0 winners on a hot afternoon in Mount Isa.
With Atlas B getting the bye, Cloncurry have cemented their place at the top of the ladder with eight points.
Atlas B are second with six, ahead of Concordia on goal difference also with six. Parkside B have five points and Isaroos B have three points.
In the women’s competition Cloncurry proved no match for Parkside.
The defending premiers joined their male B-team counterparts for the trip to Cloncurry on Saturday evening and waltzed through the game ending up emphatic 11-0 winners.
The result of the Bulls v Tigers game was not known at the time of writing while Isaroos had the bye.
Parkside lead the ladder with nine points, Cloncurry have six, Tigers and Isaroos have three each and Bulls have yet to get off the mark.
In round 6 women’s action this weekend Isaroos take on Parkside while the Bulls take on Cloncurry as Tigers have the bye.
In Men’s A Grade this weekend Atlas are up against Isaroos while Bulls take on Parkside.
In B Grade Isaroos have the early game against Parkside while Cloncurry take on Atlas B.
Concordia have this weekend off.
