Teams run 100km through the night on Saturday to Mount Isa and individuals can run 10km or more depending on the number of people in the team.
Now in its third year the run raises money for a local charity and Ms Whitehead wants all businesses and sporting groups to get behind this this year’s fundraiser for the North West Queensland Mental Health Network.
“Every day I am reading more and more about suicide, anxiety and depression in young children or adults and it is really concerning the amount of people suffering,” she said. “A 10km run is such a small effort to help someone suffering.”
So far 10 teams have registered and the fastest is likely to do it in eight hours.
The run starts in Duchess 6pm Saturday and you can register up to 4pm Thursday at https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?E=29746
