Mount Isa Hockey is sending an U15 girls team away for the State Championship in Hervey Bay. The team of players received their new uniform this week.

Coach Retha De Beer said they matched the design with their Vets Ladies who have been going away for quite a long time.

They are green and gold in colour – Mount Isa colours.”

The competition begins on Sunday September 23 with three divisions and around 18 teams from across Queensland.

“Because we are new to this we are in the third division,” she said.

Most of the players have not been away for a State Championship however De Beer said it would be a great learning experience for the young team.

Team Captain Ella Beauclerc said this was her first time going away and the team were excited.

Manager Danni Harris will also be traveling to Hervey Bay to cheer on the girls.
