The previous weekend saw the biggest rainfall totals in Mount Isa putting paid to the rugby union, the cricket, the sports sign on expo and the weekly parkrun but all those events took place as scheduled this weekend.
Earlier in the week it looked as if the rugby could be cancelled with Council advising the MIRU the grounds would remain closed until the bridge barricades have been removed.
But they were opened early in the week and a decision was made to play both games.
Mount Isa parkrun suffered its first ever cancellation last week but was back this week with first ever water views of the flowing Leichhardt River as the event approaches its first anniversary in March.
Cricket also resume though the longer grass made it difficult to pick out the ball at times.
The Sign On also took place at the second attempt.
