The women’s golf season commenced with a nine hole two-ball Ambrose Bring-a-Friend competition.
Lady members are encouraged to introduce a friend to the game of golf by playing with them in the wonderfully enjoyable format of two-ball Ambrose.
In this format both players hit off pick the best ball and then hit from that position.
It proved a good time to play for the first timers, with recent rains making for lush green fairways.
The team to make their way into the winner’s circle for this season was Alison Gordon and her guest Ronnie Walker with a great score of 33 after the Callaway Scoring System was applied to their carded score.
Taking second place honours was Michele Cullen and her guest Sigrid Tagaloa with 34 points.
Ball rundown was awarded to the teams of Nicole Mills and Anne Glover, Sandra Beattie and Judy Fangrath for their score of 35 points.
Nearest the pins went to Sandra Beattie and Judy Fangrath hole 2 and Nikki Mills and Anne Glover on hole 5.
