An 18-year-old Doomadgee man has been charged in relation to an assault which occurred at around 3am on February 24, in Pioneer.

It is alleged two groups became involved in a verbal altercation on Abel Smith Parade when a male was struck in the head before being knocked to the ground and continually assaulted.
A second victim also received moderate injuries from the assault.
The victim suffered multiple facial bone fractures and required surgery.
The man was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm.
He is due to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court in June.
