In January 2017 Mr Telford was accused of intimidating a witness by calling them "a dog", a charge with a maximum penalty of seven years.
Mr Telford was alleged to have made the comments to Chloe Misty-Joy Oliver who was originally charged with trafficking and supplying dangerous drugs.
The accusations related to Cairns and Mount Isa based drug operations North Caliper and Oscar Lake.
The case was adjourned on a number of occasions.
Mr Telford's solicitor said the whole process was a waste of public money.
