Petrick was charged with two counts of failure to appear in court, public nuisance and unlawful possession of weapons, for which he was sentenced to seven days imprisonment for each charge.
His 28 days imprisonment was suspended for 12 months and he was to pay a fine of $150.
In the closing statement the Magistrate James Morton told how Petrick possessed a knife and damaged a door and wall at a residential address on Abel Smith Parade, Mount Isa.
"You people do not treat these houses well, you live like animals," Magistrate Morton said.
"I wish those Department of Housing buildings were built with bricks so less damage could be done and less money taxpayers would pay."
Petrick's solicitor told how he was unemployed and had no immediate plans to return to the Northern Territory.
However Magistrate Morton told Petrick to return to his community.
"We have enough people like you here. We don't need people coming from the Territory to Mount Isa to access alcohol," he said.
"(Donald) Trump's wall would be a great idea to keep you in your place."
